East UNESCO World Natural Heritage in Jeju Island

Welcome to the most famous World Natural Heritage in Eastern Jeju.

First, you will start with Jeju Stone Culture Park or Eco Land or Rail Bike. Jeju Stone Culture Park is a huge museum and ecological park showing the stone culture inherent in the lives of Jeju people, focusing on the myth of ‘Seolmundae Halmang and Oh-back jang-gun’. Or we will drop by Eco Land which is the most popular theme park providing you healing and eco. You will get on the train and explore ‘Gotjawal’: a precious Jeju’s forest in that it is only one forest living northern and southern plants together in the world. Also you can see a huge reservoir holding drinking water ‘Samdasu’. Or we can get on the Rail Bike and explore Yongnuni Oreum (a volcanic edifice) very comfortably even though it is windy or rainy.

Then we are heading for Seongeup Folk Village which people have been living in old old Jeju’s houses showing old traditional lives still. After lunch, we will hike or look around Songsan Sunrise Peak (UNESCO Natural Heritage) which is the most famous and popular volcanic edifice for its outstanding scenery. It is a tuff cone with the height of 182 meters formed about 5000 years ago by hydro-volcanic eruptions upon a shallow seabed. If we are lucky, we can see Woman Divers Show down here.

Jeju can’t be described without Haenyeo (Woman Divers) culture. Jeju Haenyeo are echo-feminists who have adapted to the ecological environment of the sea barehanded without any equipment and played an important role in domestic economy. At the Haenyeo Museum, we will see all about Haenyeo (Woman Divers) culture. Or we will visit Seopjikoji which stretches to the sea connecting itself to the land through a narrow isthmus. The fantastic harmony between a picturesque hill and the blue sea made many films and dramas such as ‘All-in’ filmed here.

Finally, we will explore Manjanggul Cave (UNESCO Natural Heritage). The length of the cave is about 7.4 kilometers consisted of multi level structure showing two or three levels in some parts. We will get into 1 kilometer then we will be fascinated by a massive lava column that holds a world record for size, measuring up to 7.6 meters.

Why don’t you start off your adventurous journey right now?
