Hwaseong fortress & Everland Theme Park

Visit Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and go to Everland, the largest amusement park in Korea.

Hwaseong Fortress is an impressive structure from the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) and the official fortress of Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do. The fortress, constructed from 1794 to 1796, was built as a display of King Jeongjo’s filial piety towards his father and to build a new pioneer city with its own economic power.

Everland Resort entertains visitors all year long with various rides, festivals, theme areas, and Zootopia, perfect for a great amusement park. It houses diverse attractions which are available to enjoy with no age limits, different themed festivals including Tulip Festival, Rose Festival, Summer Splash, Halloween Festival, Romantic Illumination, and other festivals all year long. One of the park’s most famous rides is T-Express, Korea’s first wooden roller coaster, popular among young visitors.

Hwaseong fortress – Everland Theme Park

You’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to Suwon Hwasung Fortress. Hwaseong Fortress is an impressive structure from the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty. Being the world’s first planned city, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is highly praised by experts for its thorough and systematic designs compared with other structures of the time, valid even today. 

Enjoy chicken for lunch in the street of Chickens in Suwon. You will have Jinmi chicken or Yongsung chicken. These chickens are Korea No.1 Fried Chicken. They are usually seasoned with spices, sugar, and salt, prior to and after being fried.

Next we will visit Everland Resort, the world’s 7th-largest theme park located in the nearby city of Yongin. With your admission ticket, you can choose to enjoy Everland Resort’s Everland theme park. 

Admission to Everland Theme Park 

This massive theme park features five themed zones: Global Fair, Zoo-Topia, European Adventure, Magic Land and American Adventure. 

At the entrance, you’ll walk through Global Fair for food, photos and souvenirs. Head to Zoo-Topia with the kids for the petting zoo, pony rides, animal shows and glimpses of polar bears, sea lions, elephants, penguins, tigers and primates. Take the Amazon Express raft ride or hop on the caged safari bus for a look at ligers and bears roaming in a contained habitat!

When met by the European Adventure, you’ll be greeted by European architecture, restaurants, a flower garden and the first wooden roller coaster in Korea. The American Adventure will take you back in time with Wild West rides, a rodeo and live bands, and in Magic Land, don’t miss the futuristic flying ride and robot ride!
